Cooper River Bridge Run

A local tradition that stretches back to 1978, this 10-K race draws more than 30,000 participants every year. From lean elite runners to weight-watching weekend warriors to those who just run once a year, this race attracts a diverse crowd from across the state and beyond. Spectating is just as fun for those who don't want to run the 6.2-mile course, which crosses the Cooper River Bridge before heading into scenic downtown Charleston. Music, drinks, food, and revelry continue long after the race is over. The event this year will be on April 2nd @ 8:00 am.

French Quarter Art Walk

Stroll the cobbled streets and gas lit alley ways to discover the works of well over 500 artists representing a diverse variety of styles and mediums from traditional to contemporary. All galleries of the French Quarter will be open with artists on hand and refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.


Located at Participating Galleries on: Meeting, Church, State, East Bay, Broad, Cumberland, Queen, Chalmers and Tradd Streets. Maps available at participating Galleries. 

Festival of Houses and Gardens

The Festival of Houses and Gardens will be held March 17 - April 16, 2011. This festival featured the interiors and gardens of approximately 150 historic private houses in 10 colonial and antebellum neighborhoods during the peak of the city's blooming season. The Festival also will feature several Plantation Picnics at Drayton Hall Plantation, a National Historic Landmark, c. 1738, and daily walking tours through the Old and Historic District. Most of the events sell out in advance, so early reservations are strongly encouraged. Squeeze Martini Lounge

Squeeze Martini Lounge on East Bay Street located in the heart of historical Charleston.  Squeeze Martini Lounge in Charleston does have live music during the week or, DJ Wizard will be spinning an eclectic array of tunes.  They also have a few flat screen HDTV's for that big sporting events. The Squeeze Martini Lounge has Ladies Night on Wednesdays and F&B Night on Sundays for specials and fantastic Charleston nightlife. Squeeze is open from 6PM to 2AM, 7 days a week and 21+ to enter.

Charleston Food and Wine Festival 2011


On the weekend of March 3rd-6th Downtown Charleston will be hosting a world-class culinary festival showcases the talents of local and nationally-recognized Southern chefs in a city widely acclaimed for its Lowcountry cuisine. Kid Rock with Jamey Johnson

The rock star Kid Rock will be continuing his Born Free tour by making a stop to the North Charleston Coliseum on Wednesday February 16 at 7:30. Along with him is Jamey Johnson as the opening act. Tickets are on sale from $60 to $102.
